PERCHLORMETHYL MERCAPTAN - Production method

Open Data Unverified Data
  1. It is obtained by the reaction of carbon disulfide and chlorine in the presence of dilute hydrochloric acid. The temperature of the refluxed frozen brine in the chlorination reaction pot is maintained at 2 ℃, the 12% hydrochloric acid and carbon disulfide (mol ratio CS2:Cl2 = 1:5) are added to the reaction pot, and the chlorine gas is stirred at the same time, and the chlorine gas flow rate is controlled to keep the reaction temperature at (26±2)℃, and the reaction is usually carried out for 3 hours. When the relative density of trich, stop chlorine passing, stirring, standing and separation to obtain the finished product with a yield of 80%-90%.
  2. its preparation method is by chlorine and carbon disulfide in the presence of catalyst iodine reaction, the reaction temperature is 10~25 ℃, can use continuous reaction, but need to have an efficient heat dissipation device to remove the reaction heat, the crude product is refined products. CS2+Cl2[I2]→Cl3CSCl
